Walter Benítez’s Crystal Palace exit is becoming increasingly likely, with the goalkeeper reportedly ready to leave Selhurst Park.
Alan Nixon claims several clubs are interested in the Argentina international as he searches for regular first-team football.
Benítez joined Palace on a free transfer from PSV Eindhoven in July 2025 but has remained behind Dean Henderson in the goalkeeping hierarchy.
The 33-year-old made eight appearances across all competitions last season, keeping three clean sheets. However, Henderson’s form limited him to just one Premier League start.
Nixon’s update arrives alongside his report that Henderson is expected to receive a new Palace contract and remain Pierre Sage’s number one. That decision would leave Benítez facing another campaign largely restricted to cup and European appearances.

Benítez remains under contract until June 2028, so Palace are in a position to demand a transfer fee rather than sanctioning a free departure.
ReadCrystalPalace previously reported that Benítez could terminate his contract to secure a return to OGC Nice. The goalkeeper was even said to be willing to accept a salary reduction to rejoin his former club.
Benítez spent six years with Nice before moving to PSV and has spoken warmly about his connection with the Ligue 1 side. Interest from several clubs could now provide Palace with a better financial outcome than agreeing to end his contract early.
The goalkeeper played the opening half of Palace’s 3-0 pre-season defeat at Bromley. He produced an excellent reaction save but also looked uncertain with several passes from the back.
Benítez originally arrived to provide experienced competition for Henderson after winning consecutive Eredivisie titles with PSV. Palace officially confirmed his agreement in June 2025 before he joined the squad the following month.
A Walter Benítez Crystal Palace exit would leave Sage needing another dependable deputy. With Henderson expected to commit his future, Palace can now focus on finding a suitable destination for Benítez and identifying new competition for their established number one.
