Crystal Palace pair Jean-Philippe Mateta and Maxence Lacroix are one victory away from reaching the World Cup final with France.
Didier Deschamps’ side face Spain in Tuesday’s semi-final at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm UK time.
France reached the last four by beating Morocco 2-0 in Boston. Mateta appeared as a late substitute during the quarter-final, while Lacroix remained on the bench.
Palace’s official World Cup tracker confirms that both players remain part of the France squad as they prepare for a place in Sunday’s final.
Lacroix future adds another Palace storyline
Lacroix’s continued involvement comes as Chelsea maintain their interest in signing the centre-back.
The Blues view the 26-year-old as one of their leading defensive targets, but have not yet submitted an acceptable formal bid. Palace are also unwilling to approve a sale until they have secured a suitable replacement.
ReadCrystalPalace previously reported that Palace have placed a high valuation on Lacroix and will not be pressured into accepting a reduced offer.
His World Cup run has delayed any possible conclusion while also restricting Pierre Sage’s pre-season planning.
Mateta and Lacroix will require a period of rest after France’s campaign ends. Reaching the final would push their return to Palace training further into the summer.
For now, the focus remains on Spain. Victory would guarantee two Palace players a place in the biggest match in international football and extend an already significant summer for both men.
