- Abbie Larkin future confirmed
- Two Palace players called up to Ireland team
- More outgoings from South London
Crystal Palace Women’s joint top goalscorer from the 25/26 season has confirmed her future following the expiration of her contract.
Abbie Larkin was the joint top goalscorer for the Eagles, alongside Kirsty Howat, in their promotion winning campaign in the WSL2, scorring eight goals and three assists.
The Ireland international joined Palace in January 2024 on a two and a half year deal from Glasgow City, taking part in Palace’s first WSL campaign.
On top of an incredible season for the Eagles she has been called up for the Irish national team for World Cup qualifiers against Netherlands and France, alongside teammate Hayley Nolan.
“Massive talent” remaining at Palace
The 21-year-old has secured her Palace future, signing a contract until the summer of 2028. Speaking about the contract Larkin said: “This club has given me memories I’ll never forget, and it’s not over yet.”
Speaking to the Irish Times in November 2024 she said: “moving to Palace has helped me develop more. I went there to challenge myself and I’m definitely doing that. The set-up there is absolutely class, it’s brilliant, they have all the facilities you need.”
Palace manager Jo Potter issued praise for the attacker: “Abbie was fantastic this season, and we’re delighted that she has committed her future here.
“She’s a massive talent who’s only going to get better in this environment.”
Larkin will be a crucial part of the team hoping the Eagles can consolidate themselves in the WSL. In their first WSL season Larkin was involved in 20 games scoring once.
More outgoings from South London
Rushea Littlejohn and Zara Bailey are set to depart South London this summer, following the announcement that Chloë Arthur and Indiah-Paige Riley will depart following the expiration of their contracts.
Littlejohn struggled at Palace, despite her experience, joining in September and making only seven appearances.
Bailey joined as a professional game academy player from Tottenham Hotspur and only made one appearance in the third-round of the FA Cup.
