Crystal Palace told to cough up €40m for ‘insane’ Germany star

  • Crystal Palace made €30m offer for Yann Bisseck
  • Inter Milan now want €40m
  • Eagles have many defensive targets

Crystal Palace will reportedly have to increase their previous offer for Yann Bisseck if they wish to sign the Inter Milan defender this summer. The German is said to be in high demand and could be on the move.

According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), Palace made an offer of €30m for Bisseck in the past. They obviously failed with the proposal, and if they want to sign him this summer, they will have to fork out €40m.

Bissesk is a highly-rated central defender who has been at Inter since 2023. This season, he has made 22 Serie A appearances, posting two goals and three assists.

Palace learn Bisseck price tag

The report suggests that Inter are ready to sell Bisseck if their valuation is met. They have their sights set on Udinese’s Oumar Solet as a replacement.

Palace’s need for a new defender has decreased as the season has progressed. Jaydee Canvot’s incredible debut campaign has led to talk of the club not even focusing on bringing a centre-back to Selhurst Park this summer.

Bisseck, dubbed “insane”, is also highly coveted with Bayern Munich also eyeing the one-cap Germany international. He has three years left on his contract at the San Siro.

Palace have been linked with many defenders ahead of the summer, and Bisseck is one of the most high-profile. The 25-year-old has won two Serie A titles with the Nerazzuri and his versatility allows him to also play at right-back.

Might not be worth it

Whether Palace come back in for Bisseck remains to be seen, and there are many alternatives on the club’s wishlist. One of those is Natan of Real Betis, who is wanted by a host of Premier League outfits.

The Eagles had targeted Toulouse’s Charlie Cresswell in January, and the English centre-back might still be on the radar. This is despite Canvot’s fine performances and the fact that Oliver Glasner’s successor will have four defenders in his squad.

Canvot, Maxence Lacroix, Chris Richards and Chadi Riad are currently options for whoever succeeds the Austrian. But there has been talk over Lacroix’s future amid links to Chelsea.
