  • Crystal Palace draw 2-2 vs Brentford
  • Ismaila Sarr scores opener
  • Eagles star has reached 21 goals

Ismaila Sarr’s incredible season continued as Crystal Palace drew 2-2 against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday. The Senegalese winger has been Oliver Glasner’s best player throughout the campaign.

Palace settled on a point in a frenetic encounter with the Bees. Sarr gave the visitors the lead in just the fifth minute from the penalty spot.

The 28-year-old’s red-hot form continued but the South Londoners couldn’t take all three points. Dango Ouattara equalised for the hosts before Adam Wharton scored his first goal for the club.

It looked as though Palace had beaten their London rivals until Ouattara struck again late on. Glasner will rue missing out on a victory but his star man continues to thrive in a season to remember.

Ismaila Sarr stars again

Sarr’s goal means he now sits on 21 goals in 43 games across competitions. He has joined Andy Johnson for the most goals by any Eagles player in a single campaign as a Premier League club.

The former Marseille man has already won the UEFA Conference League Golden Boot barring a miracle. He has hit nine goals in 12 games in the competition and still has a final against Rayo Vallecano on May 27th to add to that tally.

With Eberechi Eze leaving last summer, there had been pressure on Sarr stepping up as the Eagles’ talisman. He’s done just that, flourishing out on the right wing and helping his side make their first-ever European final.

Wharton finally scores

After 836 days as a Palace player, Wharton has finally scored his first goal for the club. He calmly slotted home his side’s second of the afternoon and celebrated in style.

Wharton produced backflips that were just as impressive as his performances this season. He’s been a mainstay in Glasner’s team, featuring 51 times across competitions, posting one goal and seven assists.

The England international is another whose contributions have played a massive role in Palace’s season. He’ll be eager to end it with a Conference League triumph later this month.
