Opinion: How Palace can end one terrible record against Newcastle

As reported on BBC Sport, Crystal Palace are without a clean sheet in 10 league matches.

The Eagles currently have 30 points from 26 league matches and are still not safe from a tense relegation battle.

Roy Hodgson’s side have not won a match in all competitions since Boxing Day last year and have lost their last three top-flight matches against Everton, Sheffield United and Southampton respectively.

Despite not keeping a clean sheet in ten consecutive league matches, the Eagles still boast a pretty decent record in terms of goals conceded.

They’ve only conceded 32 goals all season, which is the joint sixth-best record in that department.

Hodgson’s men come up against Newcastle United next and they need a clean sheet, mainly as a morale-booster for the defenders and goalkeeper.

Of course, injuries and fitness issues have played a massive part, but individual errors have also cost the team dearly recently.

Below, we’ve looked at a few things that Palace could do to end this torrid run without a clean sheet in their next match against the Magpies.

matchday.
