“Looks class” – These Palace fans react to mixed Camarasa performance

Crystal Palace look to have avoided an injury blow, with Victor Camarasa overcoming a knock in an up-and-down performance for the Eagles’ under-23s.

Palace’s new loan signing was playing for in their clash with Birmingham City on Monday afternoon.

Camarasa limped off at half-time after being on the receiving end of a heavy challenge, in a game that also saw fellow summer recruits Gary Cahill and James McCarthy start.

The Spaniard emerged for the second half, however, and despite still holding his hip, he went on to assist the game’s opening goal for Gio McGregor.

Unfortunately, Camarasa was then robbed of possession later in the half, allowing Dani Ruiz to equalise and secure a 1-1 draw for his side.

Palace fans have been reacting to the news of Camarasa’s injury and performance on Twitter – here’s the best of the reaction.

Camarasa’s display is sure to have got Palace supporters excited, with the Spaniard looking a class act in midfield.

The injury is an obvious worry, but the fact that he continued after the break can only be a good sign.

Perhaps his error that led to the equaliser can be blamed on his knock – either way, the mistake is nothing to be concerned about.

The on-loan Real Betis man should be a key man for Palace this season, bringing quality to the side.

Should he be fully fit, Camarasa could start his side’s Premier League clash away to Sheffield United on Sunday afternoon.

Having impressed for Cardiff City last season, Camarasa should also be ready to make a quick start, having already experienced life in the Premier League.

matchday.
