Crystal Palace fans expecting a third midfield arrival in two days, look away now… because Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson seems set on remaining at the Ligue 1 club this season.
Marseille were said to have rejected an offer from Palace last week because the fee was too low, and now La Provence, as cited by Sport Witness, claim Sanson won’t force a departure.
The clock is well and truly ticking for English clubs to complete transfer dealings with less than seven hours left of the summer window, but the 24-year-old won’t be arriving at Selhurst Park.

Although it may come as a disappointment that a player of Sanson’s European pedigree won’t be a Palace player this season, the recent arrivals of Victor Camarasa and James McCarthy have boosted Roy Hodgson’s options.
If Hodgson is to stick with his typical 4-4-2 system, captain Luka Milivojevic, Cheikhou Kouyate, James McArthur and Jairo Riedewald can cover defensively, with Max Meyer and McCarthy utilised in a more advanced role.
Camarasa would also be a more advanced central player, but whispers suggest he could be played in a wider role this season, with Wilfried Zaha pushing for a move away.
If anything, the Eagles’ midfield is their strongest area going into the new campaign and missing out on Sanson really isn’t the end of the world.
