Fenerbahce pursuing Benteke deal

Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke has emerged as a loan target for Fenerbahce.

According to a report from Turkish news outlet Fanatik, as translated by Sport Witness, the club are keen to add to their attacking options with the signing of the Belgium international.

Damien Comolli, who operates as the sporting director at Fenerbahce, will apparently make his way to England this week to hold further talks with representatives from Palace as he looks to convince them to let Benteke depart.

Fanatik reports that the Super Lig giants are keen to sign the former Liverpool striker on a season-long loan deal, with an option to make his stay permanent next summer.

Palace are already short of natural forwards ahead of the upcoming campaign following the end of Michy Batshuayi’s loan spell from Chelsea.

However, with Benteke having notched up only one goal from his 16 outings last season, the Eagles could be tempted to allow the 28-year-old to move away from Selhurst Park this summer.
