Crystal Palace linked with Khouma Babacar

Sassuolo striker Khouma Babacar has emerged as a target for Crystal Palace, according to claims from Italy.

The Eagles were reportedly on the verge of completing a £12 million deal for the forward last summer, but no transfer materialised as the 26-year-old remained in Serie A.

However, they are again being linked with a pursuit of Babacar this year, with Corriere dello Sport, as cited in a report from Calciomercato, suggesting that Palace are among the potential suitors for the Senegalese attacker.

The former Fiorentina star is believed to be ready to call time on his tenure with Sassuolo, and a summer move may be on the cards, with Palace and La Liga club Leganes noted as potential suitors.

Babacar was reasonably productive in Serie A last season. He found the back of the net on seven occasions from 29 league appearances, while also contributing with two assists.

Roy Hodgson may be keen to add to his current pool of striking options this summer to provide support and competition for Christian Benteke.
