Player Ratings: Bristol City 4-1 Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace came back down to earth last weekend after their shock win over Chelsea was followed up with a disappointing defeat at Newcastle.

Last night’s Carabao Cup clash with Bristol City offered the Eagles a terrific chance to regain some momentum heading into Saturday’s huge home game against fellow strugglers West Ham, but it wasn’t to be.

A hugely rotated Palace side were humbled by the Championship outfit 4-1 at Ashton Gate, offering little in the case for optimism heading into the Hammers game this weekend.

Roy Hodgson essentially decided to throw away the League Cup after making 10 changes to the team that lost at Newcastle but if the Eagles can snatch a win at the weekend then it will be worth it.

Here are our player ratings from last night’s embarrassing defeat to Bristol City.
