Roma join race to sign Mamadou Sakho

Since arriving from Liverpool on loan for the rest of the season at the end of the January transfer window, Mamadou Sakho has been nothing short of a revelation for the Eagles.

In his seven Premier League appearances thus far, Crystal Palace have won five games (doubling their season total), lost just once, conceded just five goals and kept four clean sheets – it’s been a remarkable turnaround over the last two months.

Crystal Palace are hopeful of signing him on a permanent basis, despite the loan contract not containing a purchasing option, and the Eagles will face intense competition for his signature.

According to Calciomercato, AS Roma want to sign Sakho in the summer as a replacement for the Inter Milan bound Kostas Manolas and they are at the front of the queue to do so.

It’s claimed that Sakho’s market value now stands at about £30m, which is in the ballpark of Palace’s club record transfer fee they shelled out to bring Christian Benteke to the club last summer.
